Show CHICACO PE0DLERS ENCAGE IN RIOT CHICAGO, June 20 Peddler who have gone on strike, .hoping to fores tha repent o( an anti-noise ordinance preventing them erying their waraa, today to-day began aeta of violence to force the lean demonstrative members of the trade to join them. When the peddlera gathered at the big Randolph street marketa at daylight, wagona were overturned, over-turned, fruit and vegetables scattered about and driven who refused to strike wera driven from their wagona. A number of riot calls were received by tha police and more than .a score of arrests had been made before the atrik- era deaerted the market place. In most instanrea the police found it necessary to use their clnbs, and nearly all of the prisoners, suffered minor cuts and bruises. There are aaid to be 10,000 peddlera ia the city. The anti-noise ordinance waa passed for the benefit . of night workers, of whom there are 100,000 here, and whose daya of reat were broken by tbe cries of the peddlers.
