Show UTAH-WYOMING OIL HAS CAPPED CAS PRESSURE IN WELL Word hss been received in this ctty that the No. i well of the I'tah-Wyomlng Consolidated Oil company, which was brought In about one month ago with such gae pressure that the well could not be Immediately controlled.' has been successfully capped and the gas pressure is now held within the well. Since this How was encountered the well has been constantly Increasing In pressure because the gas at the bottom of the hol has been drilling itself out. thus adding to the producing area. The laat measurement measure-ment taken gave a flow of better than 4.20.000 cubic feet per day and the flowing flow-ing of the gaa gave such a pressure that at first It was thought the casing would not be able to hold ttje pressure. Other ?:as wells have been struck In fields a ew miles from this and have been yield- Ing for better than three years with no; apparent decrease of the flow. The policy, of the Utah-Wyoming Consolidated Oil company In the handling of this product haa not as yet been definitely determined, deter-mined, though several of the nearby towns are anxious to have the gaa piped to them for commercial use. For more than two years the Utah-Wyoming Utah-Wyoming Consolidated Oil company has been operating In the Big Horn basin in northern Wyoming, near Byron,. And although al-though several wells which were driven to shallow depths encountered oil, the company concentrated Its efforts to the drilling of this deep well, which Is down about U0O feet. The casing rests on top of the sandstone which lies near the bottom bot-tom of the well and which hat a five-foot five-foot casing of hard rock on the top, thus affording an excellent place for the location loca-tion of the bottom casing. The drilling machine has been moved from this location loca-tion to another well, which Is down about tOO feet and drilling will be started at once at this place to put that well down to the sands which He beneath. This ts the first well driven to the lower horl-sons horl-sons and the discovery made by the company com-pany has given added Impetus to other i operators In the field, who sJV now pre-1 paring to drill. Thla field Is seven miles from the Burlington Bur-lington railroad, where there Is a rerln- ery. which has been refining the products pro-ducts from the field for two years. The oil Is of a high grade with a gravity of 44 Baume, carrytng about one-third gasoline gaso-line and the lighter naphthas, besides about per cent of the Illuminating oils.
