Show BECK TUNNEL- HAY DEVELOP ORE NEAR CAVE BY A WINZE According to tb current report in Eureka, there if possibility that Beck Tunnel will further develop it or by sinking a wins near tb rave which was recently opened, and then opening up the deposit from that point, using ( donkey engine which th comparer already al-ready has in its possession. While it is not definitely decided that this eonrs will be pursued, it is said that it would be far more satie factory to the Knight interests than driving a tunnel 400 feet on th 2011-foot 2011-foot level of th old shaft, which would b necessary to get under the point at which th or i making at th present tint. la th adoption of th latter method th sam drift could b utilised in th economical extraction of the ores of this channel, as it makes to . the south, and mining by raising is cheaper than by sinking. In the adoption of the former, the or could he shipped and the proceeds used for operating expenses, ex-penses, but ultimately at a less profit ton neeouut of thw- costs, vf nulstlng, at though th work would permit the com pany to stay witn tne ore. At the present time the southern ex tent of the ore aa developed is about even with the south end of the Humbuk claim, but to the east. From the point where the tunnel waa driven westerlv into the hill the work baa proeeedeii about 175 feet to the south. This tun nel struck the ore in a cross fissure from the north and eonth break and a wins was sunk at that place. Shipments Ship-ments have been made in this ore. Then drifting south, another cross fissure was encountered. This also carried some ore and the southwest course of the tun nel was continued until it was about up to the Uncle Sam line. Then coming bark to the last intersection, a drift wes sentast. and after pasting through sixty feet of lime picked up the ore sgsin in the cross fissure. Breaking easterly from this, the ore was followed in this cross fissure, then into the cave which waa recently opened, and then southerly in what appear to be the north and south break. From this it seems that the ore make in the north and south break and in the eross fissure and is enlarged at the intersections. Also it is evident that these cross break hay faulted the ore. throwing it to the east and changing ita course so that it breaks more easterly than it otherwise would. The face at the present time is breaking break-ing to th south and the ore ia making full across the drift, although the top is out of the ore, thus indicating that the ore is below. Other evidences also show that the main body should be found below the present working. Ia the meantime the ore is being followed fol-lowed to the south in this drift, and in all probability this work will be contin ued. That it should be productive of results ia evident from the continuity of the ere aa shown by the development to date and the sixe and character of the break in which the ore makee. As to the method of opening that ore, no definite policy has been outlined by the company, although it is evident that greater depth most be attained in order to gee the or a it make out on thebeddintrs. |
