Show JUDGE HOWELL IS TIRED OF LOAFING OODEN, June 26. Judge Howell s verely scored tactics adopted by mem bert of the Ogden bar this morning in the district court when he announced that as many rases as possible would . be set for hearing in Jnly, and that be would refuse farther motions for continuance. The judge said that he had given tho lawyers of Weber county a full rein in the matter of continuance during the past two months, just to see, if he could, how far they would go. The result was that the court had been S radically idle. He thought the time ad come to call a halt, and accordingly accord-ingly fixed his July calendar, with the result that it is pretty well filled np. The damage suit of Frank Krase against the Denver t Rio Grande was continued for the term. That of Walter Wal-ter Reid against the Union eine was continued until tomorrow. This ease grows out of the same circumstance aa that of Thomas Reid, who waa declared de-clared to have no cause of action in a verdict of Saturday last. |
