Tha proposal of tha house Interior department expendl-tures expendl-tures committee to delay until fall further fur-ther investigation of the Controller bay affair la Alaska, involving tha aUatrsd "Dick-to-Dick" letter, will be opposed bitterly by Republican members of the house. They assert that tha oomralttee Is trying to drop tha matter after allowing allow-ing unwarranted reflections to be cast mn tha president and tha admlntst-re- k wo rasolntfona looking to Immediate disposition of the matter were Introduced by Republicans, one In -the house by Representative Humphrey of Washington, Wash-ington, and another In the committee It-, sIf by Representative Burke of South Dakota, one of tha three Republican members. No action was taken on either resolution. Mr. Humphrey's resolution asked fori the discharge of the committee from consideration con-sideration of the matter and tha appointment appoint-ment of a special committee to conduct the Inquiry. The Burke reeolutton provided that Controller bay be made a special order and that "the hearings continue from day to day urfttl a thorough and full and I complete inquiry has been made of the whole subteet.
