You aay that during th visit of Mr. Chambers Cham-bers In Cache county,-several men were arrested for spearing Bah when the water wss turned out of one of the canals, and among the number wss Fred Marshall. There la not a shred of truth In that assertion, as-sertion, such a thing never hsving been mentioned by any officer here as far aa I can learn. And certainly no such chsrge could truthfully be made aa I had no fish In my possession nor waa I seeking to obtain any. and 1 am at a loss to account for the publication of such a statement. Chambers, state fish and game commissioner, said that Game Warden Peterson of Cache county had reported the name of Mr. Merehall along with those of Peter Anderson. Fred Smith. J. P. OrlfAn and John Ketlson. Mr. Nellson pleaded guilty and paid a l:i An, while Mr. Chambers was In Logan. Mr. Peterson haa since reported tliat case are pending against Anderson. Smith and Griffin, hut that he had no evidence agalnat Mr. Marshall, whose nam waa taken because lie wss near the place at the time of the alleged offense, and was watching tha othera woo an ac-ciised ac-ciised of sphering the flh. |
