Show CHEER ROOSEVELT FOR TEN MINUTES WASHINGTON, Jan. 17. President Roosevelt was given a great ovation tonight to-night when he addressed the delegates to the National Convention for the Extension Ex-tension of Foreign Commerce of the United State. A delegate from one of the Far Western States mounted a chair and proposed three eheers for Teddv Roosevelt, President of the United States. For ten minutes the 600 delegates dele-gates cheered the President. The President's speech wss devoted to a discussion of this Government's policy in putting San Domingo on her feet;' reform in the Consular service, and extension of the Nation's trade into South and Central America and the Orient. He made a general plea for a larger navy snd for the merchant marine. |
