The market was quiet and the trading was nor large. Pit traders were the principal buyers. May opened k9i- higher at 7ii76c and sold at 7Sic. The com market opened firm with a fair volume of trade. The strength of oats and the possibility of a delayed crop movement by unsettled weather were the chief sources of strength. May corn opened a shade to c higher at 44'441c, Hn.i sold at 44r. The oats market was strong on a good general demand. Local bulls bought free-Iv free-Iv and short lines were actively covered. May opened unchanged to lc higher at 37fi.1T,c, and for a time held within this range. The provisions market opened quiet and steady. The market early was lifeless and all classes of provisions opened unchanged un-changed May pork opened ju $15.
