Senators Warm Under Collar Col-lar When Association's Protest Against Railroad Bill Is Read This Morning v Several members of the Senate became very warm under the collar this morn-Ins morn-Ins In discussing- the communication sent that body by the Merchant and Manufacturers' Manu-facturers' association yesterday, and which. In anything but mild language, told how wrong it would be to pass Senate Sen-ate bill No. 95, "giving greater power to railroads in the Stater and permitting them control of coal and iron lands without with-out legislative restriction. Senator Hulanlskl, In particular, allowed al-lowed his choler to rise by stating he would "not allow his motives to be questioned ques-tioned by any man or organization." Senators Walton and Johnson uttered similar sentiments, which were heartily supported by other members of the body-Senator body-Senator Lawrence became the center of a storm when he advocated, in a manner, man-ner, the expresiiion of the M. and M. association, as-sociation, and was called by Johnson, "a hard loser." The matter was finally referred re-ferred back to the association without comment or action. Senate bill No. 172. making it the duty of the Secretary of 8tate to file with i County Recorders certified transcripts of lists of all public lands set aside by the State In compliance with the regulations of the General Land office was passed.
