Frank Knox, president of the National Bank of the Republic, ia home from a month' business trip to the money center cen-ter of the East. Mr. Knox went directly direct-ly to Uhlladelphla to attend the meeting of the United Statea mint convention, which wa in session to examine and assay as-say all kinds of United States coins and test them as to weight and nneness. He was appointed a member of this commission commis-sion by President Roosevelt. . Mr. Knox says that not much Interest In the slump in stocks Is taken in the East, but that every indication points to a year of gTeat prosperity. Legitimate stock mining investment are in favor In the East, Mr. Knox say, and he expect a great deal of Eastern capital to come here thi year. While in New York and Philadelphia Mr. Knox, whose acquaintance with Eastern East-ern bankers is quite extensive, waa shown a great deal of attention, his opinion opin-ion on the Western situation and West-em West-em Investment being much sought. |
