The desired franchise, with a certified check - for $200 was filed with the . Council and will be taken up by the Committee on Municipal Laws at Its meeting Thursday. Thurs-day. The ' franchise was changed under the Morris administration and other changes are desired in the new franchise. The proposed ordinance asks that all franchises held under the franchise of 1905 be extended for fifty years from July 1, 1905. The time, for placing transmission transmis-sion wires under ground Is asked to be extended two years, except that sixteen blocks of these wires shall be laid in the downtown district this year. The company asks for a right to build lines over a large number of additional streets and the right to extend its lines to the city limits in all directions In all some nineteen amendments to the old franchise are made. The company asks that It be granted the right to haul freight between the hours of midnight and o'clock in 'the morning so that freight can be hauled from the Oregon Bhort Line depot to the company's proposed barn at Fifth East and Seventh South streets. Light and Railway Rail-way company, its successors and assigns, as-signs, to build and operate a single or double track street railroad over the following streets of said city, namely: First: On West Temple street from Third South street to the southern boundary boun-dary line of said city; .
