Show Retail Merchants Commend Police and Offer Services Services of the Retail Merchants association as-sociation of Salt Luke were offered to Chief of Police Joseph K. Durbidge and the city government today In a set of resolutions complimenting the police on their efficient work arresting the gang of burglars implicated in the shooting of Detective i. R. Hamby. The resolutions were received by Mayor V. Clarence Neslen. They are aa follows: fol-lows: I "Resolved. That the association con- gratulates Chief Burhidge on his nar- ' row escape from the assassin's bullet i and condoles with the stricken family J of the brave officer who gave his life ; while In the discharge of his duties in j the public service. I "Resolved. That the association's appreciation ap-preciation be extended to Chief Itur-hidgo Itur-hidgo and the police force for their j ready response to all calls made upon i them by merchants and others for pro-j pro-j tection. The ss4ciation further resolved re-solved to ask the officers of the law to continue their diligence in freeing the city of all loafing and unemployed men who cannot give satisfactory reasons rea-sons for their resilience here. "Resolved. Th.it the association as a body extends to the chief of police their services whenever required, to assist them In dealing with the preservation of peace and good order in the city." |
