OCR Text	Show YES, BUT THERE STILL WERE TAX LEVIES TO MEET It was bargain day Thursdsy around the state Capitol for the lucky smokers who were on hand when the state tax commission conducted an auction. On sals were '245 packages of cigarets and numerous packages of clga-ret clga-ret papers, confiscated because of nonpayment of taxes. The ciftarets aold for an average aver-age of 70 cents per carton, with the purchaser required to psy the tax, too, about 2 cents a package. Successful bidders on the papers paid about a penny a package, plus Hi centi tax.
