Show I THE POET'S CORNER by Dana S. Benson j Something New Has Been Added One of the cutest things Has come to live with us; He never cries and never sings, He doesn't even fuss. He dresses for dinner in his tails, And dines on grass and seeds. He has ten times the strength of I whales In "dreams" among the weeds. All day long he plays and runs Around his castle of stone. His color is that of the sun's, And he lives in his world alone. He winks his eyes in merriment, And waves his arms about. When I say "bow wow" in wonderment won-derment He looks at me in doubt. Mother calls him a "gold fish," A "poor sucker" daddy titters, But to me, he's just a swish Ol something new that glitters. |
