Ruth Rebekah lodge No. 7 met Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Marion Johnson of Copper-ton. Copper-ton. At the meeting past noble grand pins were presented to Mrs. Deon Hodges, Mrs. Sadie Swainston, Mrs. Helen Sullenger, Mrs. Charlotte Murano, Mrs. Elsie Martin, Mrs. Willadeen Householder House-holder and Mrs. Dawna Huebner who was unable to be present. Mrs. Laura May Timothy, member mem-ber of the Duchesne lodge, was a visitor. After the business meeting meet-ing bridge was played and prizes won by Mrs. Mabel Jenson, Mrs. Murano and Mrs. Householder. Next meeting of the lodge will be held Tuesday, August 3 at the home of 'Mrs. Swainston of Copperton. Cop-perton. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Joseph and Mr. and Mrs. JoTin Caulfield left Wednesday morning for their home in Long Beach, Calif., after a two weeks' visit here with Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Nerdin. Mrs Joseph, Jo-seph, Mrs. Caulfield and Mrs. Nerdin are sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hunt of Martin, Mar-tin, Wyo., visited several days last week with Mr. and Mrs. David Da-vid L. Bills. Tuesday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl T. James were Mr. and Mrs. Walter B. Scott of Los Angeles and Mrs. Benton Morris and son of Murray. No. 1 Firemen's auxiliary were entertained Monday evening by Mrs. Wesley Longfellow. Prizes at cards were won by Mrs. Earl Rager, Mrs. Irvin Stillman and Mrs. John J. Creedon. Lovely refreshments were served to 9. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Merriken and children, Linda and Bill, left Monday for their home in Tu-junga, Tu-junga, Calif., following a visit here with Mr. and Mrs. John W. Holmes, Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Fors-nes Fors-nes and Mrs. Elvira Forsnes. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Mitchell and son David and Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Moore and children left Wednesday for their homes in California following a visit here with relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Alger Baum, Mr. and Mrs. Julian Baum and son, Gary and Sid Hardy attended the Gene Autrey rodeo in Salt Lake City Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. George Kampros and family and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Vardakis, all of Lead Mine, spent several- days at Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. Mrs. Anna Baum and son William Wil-liam of Frankfort, Ind., enroute to California, spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Alger Baum. New road patroller recently purchased by the City of Bingham Bing-ham Canyon has arrived. It will be used for grading and ice removal. re-moval. Nelson, Donna Lee Cook and Dale Callister attended at-tended "Midsummer Night's Dream" in Salt Lake City Tuesday Tues-day evening. A group of 80 Catholic summer school children enjoyed a picnic and swimming at Saratoga last Wednesday and Thursday. Also enjoying Huck Finn day at Murray last Friday were 70 Catholic children. William John Reid Jr. and Mary Ann Schlaf were married recently in Holy Rosary church. H. R. Gust, secretary of Bingham Bing-ham Eagles aerie, attended an Eagles secretarial school at Newhouse hotel in Salt Lake City Sunday. Bob Jimas, past president of the Utah State junior chamber of commerce, has been appointed national chairman on membership, member-ship, it was revealed in a telegram tele-gram received last Friday from Paul S. Bagwell, Lansing, Mich., national president. Approximately 200 acres of grass on a plateau north of Bingham Bing-ham high school were burned Thursday, July 15 before Salt Lake county firemen could control con-trol the blaze. Jack E. Clay, county coun-ty fire chief, said the fire probably prob-ably was caused by someone burning weeds. Three pieces of equipment spent three hours extinguishing ex-tinguishing the blaze. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zaccaria of Lead Mine attended a canyon party-given by the board of directors di-rectors of the Provo ball club for all Provo club players and partners part-ners at Canyon Glen in American Ameri-can Fork canyon last Friday. About 40 were in attendance. Mrs. Jack Walden and grandchildren, grand-children, Janet and Eddie Larsen and Mrs. Don Peterson and children, child-ren, Karen and Michael, all of Everett, Wash., and Mrs. Kaya Mcintosh of Seattle, Wash., are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Ball. Mrs. Walden and Mrs. Mcintosh Mc-intosh are sisters of Mrs. BalL Mr. and Mrs. Raymond B. Carter have just returned from a two weeks' visit in Roosevelt with Mr. and Mrs. Verland Nelson. |
