Show FIVE ARRESTED IN DOPE RING S. L. Connections Are Ascribed to Ring Reportedly one of the lsrgest narcotics nar-cotics rings in the west, with asserted as-serted connections in Salt Lake City, was smashed Wednesday by federal agents with arrests in Las Vegas, Nev., and Los Angeles, of five persons, according to the United Unit-ed Press. Eugene Cheney, assertedly a lieutenant lieu-tenant of Black Tony Parmagini, formerly "biggest opeiator" on the west coast, according to R. C. Bel-nap, Bel-nap, federal narcotics agent here; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cheney, Phil Rubens and Ruth Cheney were nabbed by daring raids in the two cities. Dispatches reported the Cheneys operated a truck line Into Salt Lake City. Although the Cheneys are not linted in the city directory and the state public aervice commission said no license to operate as a common com-mon carrier had been registered under that name with it. United Press dispatches from Las Vegas said they are Salt Lake City residents. resi-dents.
