Show ; e- North Summit Defeats Park City For First Time in Seven Seasons (Special to The Telegram) PARK CITY, Oct. 9 North Summit high school has the inside track in the race for Summit district football laurels for the first time since 1930 following the Braves' first triumph over Park City in seven years by a 19-12 score here Friday. The win left North Summit as' the lone unbeaten team in the race, as Judge Memorial high of Salt Lake City kicked over the "dope bucket" by beating the touted Morgan Mor-gan crew, 19-6, at Morgan after having been defeated, 26-0, by the Braves last week. Paced by Doug Clark, speedy little halfback, North Summit scored twice in the second quarter Friday, and smashed over another touchdown in the third canto. Park City rallied in the final period to march twice from midfield over the goal line, but a third drive was atopped aa the Braves recovered a fumble deep in their own territory ter-ritory and drove close to another score as the game ended. After Morgan had led 6-0 for nearly three quartera, Judge found its stride to march over the goal, Fullback Raid carrying the ball for the score and hitting the line for the extra point He scored again in the last period after a sustained drive, and Riley completed the rout by intercepting a Morgan pass for a 59-yard dash and a third touchdown. |
