Show PROSECUTORS' AVERAGE HIGH Utah prosecutors had a good "batting "bat-ting average" in 1838, federal bureau bu-reau of the census statistics covering cover-ing courts of general criminal jurisdiction jur-isdiction showed Saturday. Th survey covered 28 of th state's 29 counties and ahowed that of a total of defendants, 20 war convicted and 1M disposed of without conviction. The disposals without conviction included dismissals, acquittal by judges and acquittals by juries. Of ths 2v convicted, 188 pleaded guilty, S3 were found guilty by judge and SO found guilty by Juries. The following eentences were Imposed Im-posed upon the 2M convicted: Death penalty, none; state prison and reformatories, re-formatories, 128; probation or suspended sus-pended sentences, 87; local Jails, 88; fines or costs only, 8. |
