Show SNYDERS MOVE MANNING MILL Snyder Mines, Inc., will movs Its mill from Manning to Mercur as soon as weather permits and step up production at the Lewiston Peek mine, George W. Snyder, v-lce president presi-dent of the company, announced Monday. The mill will be moved one-half at a time, a half remaining tn operation at Manning while the other half is being eet up in Mercur. Mr. Snyder said the company will break ground at Mercur about March 16 and complete the moving Job In M days thereafter. Tha mill has completed treatment of the Manning dumps and is now treating treat-ing only ore from the Lewiston Peak. When moved to Mercur, the mill will be enlarged by ths addition of crushing equipment, thickener tanks and new bins. The additional equipment will give the rebuilt mill a daily capacity of TOO tons of tailings tail-ings from the Mercur dump and 300 tons from mine productions. The Mercur dump is estimated to contain con-tain 4.500.000 tons of tailings. Dump tailings and crude ore alike will be treated by flotation to remove re-move the, sulphides, the flotation tailings being treated by cyarttda-tion. cyarttda-tion. Thla process, it is expected, will eliminate the necessity of roat-Ing. roat-Ing. Pending removal of ths mill, th . company has begun shipping a car-. car-. load of ore a day to the GarfJeld . smelter. Tha ore is mixed omidt ; and sulphide and is reported to carry an average of an ounce ol ' gold to the ton. |
