So it was with former Police Captain Ernest E. "But, you know," hs added, "It's kind of hard to step out ef harness all at once. There isn't anything to do." The veteran police officer, who boasts a long record of courageous and honorable service, waa officially official-ly retired by the city commission last week. He had served more than alx yeara aa captain of police and 17 years aa a patrolman. "I have no plana for the future," he said. "I'd Just llks to take life sasy for a few years; maybe catch up on some reading I've been planning plan-ning to do for a long time." Captain Brown explained that he csme bsck to ths office "Just to clean things up a bit and say goodbye good-bye to ths boys." "Say," hs added.
