Show Bermuda Seizes Airmail KTW YORK March 29 m British censors at Bermuda had before them a protest of the selture of United States mail from a westbound west-bound Atlantic Clipper. The protest was handed to authorities au-thorities Thursday by Clipper Captain Cap-tain W. D. Culbertson before he submitted to the seizure made during dur-ing an unscheduled refueling stop forced by strong headwinds as he flew 18 passengers and mail from Lisbon, Portugal. Pan American Airways said "some" mail had been seised, but other Informants placed the amount at over 1600 pounds. The stop was the first for a mail carrying Clipper since the air line eliminated Bermuda as a port of call March 15. |
