Tenn has reopened its church in Salt Lake City and has appointed Rev. Harold Lester state overseer. Pastor of the church is Rev. C. J. St. Clair, 238 W. 3680 South, Murray. Rev. St. Clair was pastor prior to suspension of services, approximately a year ago. The new state overseer. Rev Laster, is a 20-year-old man now living with his wife and; one child at the rear of the temporary tempor-ary church building, 617-2nd East He has been s licensed evangelist with the Church of God since he was 14 years old, he said. Rev. Lester came to Salt Lake City from Grenada, Miss., where he was state evangelist for the Church of God and built a new church. When he started in evangelical work at the age of 14 he was affiliated with the Missionary Baptist church He spent three yeara traveling travel-ing for this denomination and then joined the Church of God, becoming a traveling minister. In 1947 he toured Utah and Colorado conducting revivals with Rev. Homer Hall, former state overseer. "While conducting s revival In Clifton. Laster said he is the youngest state overseer in the Church of God, which has bought a building at approximately 3900-4 th East. "After remodeling," remodel-ing," he said, "we hope to be able to move In by the end of November." Services st the church at 617 2nd East will be held each Sunday Sun-day at 10 a.m. and 7:45 p.m. |
