I Winners in future Utah - Open I . golf tournaments will be assurred of a permanent record of their achievement, for a huge silver bowl, to be made a perpetual trophy tro-phy for the tournament,' will be awarded by The Tribune-Telegram for the first time this year. . Plans for the trophy have been completed by Tribune-Telegram officials and Les Bennett, president presi-dent of the .Utah State Golf Assn. The association will keep posses-tion posses-tion of the silver bowl, and names of all winners will be Inscribed on it. This year the tournament will be held at the Fort Douglas course, a tricky 18 holes that will prove a good test both for the nation's top stars who are slated to compete com-pete and the local aspirants for the championship. Dates for the tourney are Aug. 26-29. Annually the tournament Is held over the 72-hole route, and last year it was combined with the big western Open tournament, held at |
