Nation bills will be reported to "the Senate during the present week. And U Is intended to take them up for consideration as soon as possible, regardless re-gardless of all other legislation, and henceforth to give the supply bills right of way, to the exclusion of all other matters. 1 It is not expected that the confirmation confirma-tion of Gen, Wood wlU be considered during the week, owing to the absence of Senators Foraker and Blackburn, both of the Committee on Military Affairs, Af-fairs, and both interested in the case. It is the general expectation that the case will received attention next week. The Committee on Elections will begin be-gin Its Investigation into the Smoot case on. Tuesday, and it Is also expected ex-pected lhat the special committee ap- -' ' to Inquire into the charges V . -.Senator Dietrich will proceed vn-,s work during the week. The week finds the House with a ery small proportion of the big supply sup-ply measures awaiting its action. The naval was the eighth of the general appropriation ap-propriation bills that have been disposed dis-posed of at this session. The remaining remain-ing supply bills will be given precedence prece-dence over other measures, as it is the desire of the leaders to clearup all the ' regular bualness of the House as early aa possible. |
