Show "BRYAN BROAD BUT SHALIWSAYSDOWIE WAUKEGAN, III., Nov. 18.-In his sermon ser-mon Apostle John Alexander Dowls condemned con-demned all church fairs, "sociables," suppers, sup-pers, dinners and, in fact, all schemes used by churches to raise money. He said: "Any church which cannot support itself it-self without begging of the public had better close its doors." Dowie has evidently not got over the heat of the campaign, for he called Bryan a broad man: "He is a broad man like one of these broad lakes, broad but awfully shallow. Ho is a man with a brass mouth talking, talking, talking." He expressed himself as very much pleased with the outcome of the campaign. |
