May U The Presidential Presi-dential train left Del Monte at 8 o'clock this morning. A detachment of the Fifteenth Fif-teenth Infantry, commanded by Capt. Sweet, accompanied the President from " ' . - the hotel to his train. At Pajaro a stop of ten minutes was made, during which President Roosevelt made a brief address to the crowd collected col-lected at the station. v From Pajaro the President went to Santa San-ta Cruz, a picturesque city and seaside resort on the northeastern shore of Monterey Mon-terey bay, where the party remained until un-til noon. On the way to San Jose the party made a brief stop at Felton to visit the grove of big redwood trees. At San Jose, which was reached during . the afternoon, the President was tendered an ovation. |
