Show SHAMROCK-WEARERS HONOR ST. PATRICK. Memory of Erin's Benefactor Kept Green Today by Every Son of the Emerald Isle. Today is the day that Is ever kept green In the memory of every son of Erin in honor of St. Patrick, who banished ban-ished snakes from Ireland, and made it possible for every native son to drink all of "the cratur" In sight and not be visited by a descendant of Eve's tempter. tempt-er. Green Is the only color that meets approval ap-proval In the heart of the proteges of the patron saint of the Emerald Isle today, to-day, and "Erin Go Bragh" Is the only salutation that sounds like music to the Hibernians who are far from their bogs and oppressive landlords. Salt Lake has a very small Irish population pop-ulation as compared with other cities of equal size throughout the country, and as a consequence the celebration of the day will not assume proportions sufficiently suffi-ciently large to paralyze business. The only public demonstration will be religious services In the Catholic church. Last night a St. Patrick's concert was given for the benefit of St. Ann's orphanage. |
