Show PREACHER DISCUSSES ' PROBLEMS OF LABOR. CLEVELAND, O., June 13.-The annual an-nual baccalaureate sermon to the graduating classes of Adelbert college and the College for Women of Western Reserve university, by President Charles F. Thwing, was delivered last night In Beck with memorial church. Mr. Thwing spoke on the text, "The Trusteeship of the Gospel." Dr. Thwing said: "The first element in the adjustment in the rights and duties of capital and 'labor is an understanding of the rights and duties of both labor and canital. "I sometimes fear that forces now active may wreak themselves on the commurity and again overthrow civilisation, civil-isation, as it waa overthrown in southern south-ern Europe 1500 years ago. Neither this nation nor any of this other advanced ad-vanced people of the world has any patent right to constant progress or to a lasting existence." |
