Show ACTRESS IS INDICTED Nan Patterson Held for Murder of Bookmaker Caesar Young. NEW YORK, June 13. Mrs. Nan Patterson, Pat-terson, the actress who was with Caesar Young, the bookmaker,. in a cab on June 4 when he was shot and killed, was today to-day Indicted for murder in the first degree. de-gree. Young, who had been a close friend of Mrs. Patterson for several years, met her by appointment about two hours before the time set for the sailing of the steamer on which he was to sail with his wife for Europe. They had spent most of the previous evening in conference confer-ence over the Impending separation, and it is understood this farewell meeting had been arranged for the transfer to Young of certain letters In the possession posses-sion of Mrs. Patterson. Conflicting stories have been told of the happenings In the cab, and Mrs. Patterson has refused to give the details of the shooting except to say that Young shot himself and that after the shooting fhe had picked up the revolver and placed It in Young's right-hand pocket. One eye-witness has presented himself, and his testimony was to the effect that Young had shot himself. |
