The Equltablel Statement Forty-five years is a short space of time in which to accumulate outstanding outstand-ing assurance of $1,500,000,000, and assets' as-sets' amounting to $410,000,000. Yet this is the record of the Equitable Life Assurance As-surance Society, as shown by the figures fig-ures of its preliminary statement for the year Just ended. During the year the Income amounted to $78,000,000, and the total payments to policyholders policy-holders to $37,000,000. Most wonderful wonder-ful of all, however. Is the magnificent Increase of $5,000,000 in the society's surplus fund. This amounts, at the present tflne to $78,000,000, and is larger than evef before.
