Show LARGE SUM INBJJNTIES Killing: of Wild Animals Is Beneficial to Stock Interests. More warrants were issued in December Decem-ber by County Clerk James In payment of bounty on the hides of wild animals killed in the State than for any previous previ-ous month in the history of the office. The amount was $5334, an Increase of $303 over the month of November, which held the record up to that time. Fewer hides were presented during the month of December than in November, but the high priced ones showed an Increase. In-crease. In speaking of the hunting and killing of wild animals one who understands under-stands the business said: "It !s true that a iarge amount of money is paid out In the State as a bounty on the hides of wild animals, which acts as an Incentive for people to kill them. If it were not for the bounty they would only be killed In defense de-fense of stork, and the Job would be so lcrge that the stockmen would be unable un-able to do the work. If it were not for the bounty the stock interests would suffer greatly, in fact it Vould be impossible im-possible to run stock In some sections of the State. The amount paid In bounties boun-ties Is, well spent in the protection of one of the great industries of the State." |
