Show COUNCIL HOT DECIDED ON ASPHALT QUESTION The City Council has not yet settled the question as to whether or not the city shall purchase certain asphalt beds and produce its own aephaltum for repairing re-pairing the streets. The matter was broached in the Council Monday night, but it was finally laid over for another week. On motion of Councilman A. J. Davis, $200 was appropriated to secure an inspection in-spection of the properties, purchase of which is under consideration, by State Mine Inspector Gomer Thomas. E. H. Callister offered the Council 640 acres of asphalt land within a mile and a half of the railroad. He offered to sell the asphalt to the city direct at $2.75 per ton f. o. b. W. Hendrickson offered to sell 640 acres of land In Carbon Car-bon county for $12,000. |
