Show SERVICE IS UNCHANGED Street Car Company Did Not Consolidate Lines as Was Proposed. The proposed changes that were to be made by the Utah Light and Railway company on the various street car lines of the city will not be put into effect as contemplated, and the lines will run as heretofore. It was proposed to consolidate the East Fourth South and South Temple lines, the Sixth street and Second West street lines and the Second West and East Seventh South street lines, beginning begin-ning today. Owing to the fact that the paving operations op-erations in Brigham street are still in progress, and as a consequence the tracks in that street are continually being be-ing torn up and replaced, the schedule as arranged cannot be made effective, the cars being unable to make long trips on schedule. Assistant Superintendent O. P. Arnold has decided that it would be inexpedient to make the changes until this line Is completed. Since all of the proposed changes cannot be put into effect, he has decided that none of them will be. When the tracks are permanently placed in Brigham street all of the proposed pro-posed changes will be simultaneously inaugurated. |
