The robber succeeded In wrecking the outer safe, but the explosion alarmed the telegraph operator, who, after seeing see-ing what had occurred, notified Sheriff Robinson. At 1:45 o'clock, the westbound Union Pacific train passed through the station and stopped for water. It Is thought that the men boarded this train and thus made their escape. Sheriff Robinson immediately notified all surrounding towns of the robbery and organised a posse ' of twenty-five men to scour the neighborhood, In the hope that the robbers might be apprehended. appre-hended. , .
