Appropria-tions. Agitation of this question was started soon after the creation of the Department De-partment of Commerce and Labor, and bills were prepared by several members of Congress providing for a commission to make such investigation. The Senate amendment appropriates 130,000 to make investigation "with the object ob-ject of promoting the domestic and foreign for-eign commerce of the United States," and report the results to Congress. |
