Show UNIVERSITY ALUMNI BANQUET TONIGHT Graduates of Former Years Hold a Business Meeting and Elect Their OfBcerg. The annual business meeting of the University of Utah Alumni association was held . last night at the University, Prof. J. F. Merrill presiding. The committee on scholarship reportrd 1500 In the treasury and recommended that the interest on this be used each year for an alumni scholarship. A committee was appointed to make the investment and arrange for the granting of tbe scholar-1 shlpt ' I It was announced that the annual alumni banquet would begin tonight at 8:33 o'clock. The chairman of the programme committee com-mittee reported the following programme of toasts for the. banquet: "The Old Boys." Judge John Booth; "The Young Boys." Virginia BusU: "Our Statesmen," Frank Evans; "Our Professors." Dr. Allen; Al-len; "Our Lawyers," President W. J. Kerr; "Our Doctors," E. M. Allison, Jr. Officers for the ensuing year were elected elect-ed as follows: Judge T. D. Lewis. N. 'S4. B. B.. '86, president; Mrs. Llnie Smith Cart wrlght. N.. '82. vice-president; George Q. Morris, N.. '89, secretary and treasurer, and Miss Effle Hague, A. B., '03, assistant secretary .nd treasurer. The constitution was also amended so that the graduates of each year shall have the right to vote at the business meeting the year of their graduation. |
