Show HEAVY FROSTS DID NOT I FRUIT; WARMER! ONIGHT The cold wave that5 has been causing heavy frosts all over this section' of the country 'for the past' three nights has moved away to the east, and the weather bureau is forecasting warmer weather for tonight and tomorrow. The lowest temperature recorded during the period this area of high pres-sure; pres-sure; was passing, over' the Intermountaln region was 25 deg. . above zero,, at about ' 7 o'clock yesterday morning., This was . attended with a heavy , frost. The weather bureau recorded 27, deg.' at C o'clock this morning, with another heavy frost. Reports from the outside stations show that the frosts : were general, but did not damage the fruit crop to any extent, owing to the fact that the season is backward and the buds on the fruit trees "have, not developed enough to be seriously affected.. ' An area of low. pressure made its appearanoe .over British Columbia . this morning and will have the effect of bringing the temperature up tonight probably prob-ably to a" minimum of 38 deg. ; - The weather, bureau is preparing the first crop bulletin for the season, which will be ready for distribution by tomorrow. |
