The .closing sale Saturday, was at $1.44, while the opening todaywas $1.20. No cause was giver for the terrific drop In the price of the stock, as conditions at the mine are unchanged. A total of $10,500 was sold today. Daly West recorded the sale of 75 shares, selling them in blocks of 25 at the following prices, $45,770; $45.60; $45.25. May Day opened at 22 cents, but braced up to 22V4 cents on the close. Sacramento dropped below 25 cents, and Martha Washington released 1000 at 8 cents. Uncle Sam held firm at 28 cents, and Grand Central sold at $4.65. A total of 16,975 shares was sold for 116,518,63. At the mine continuous operations are being pushed, and with the coming levy expended, the management expects to have the mine on a paying basis. . The present week will see the concentrating concen-trating plant at trie May Day completed and in operation. Manager Snow says a shipment of concentrates should be ready by the 20th of June. The Taylor & Brunton sampler has sixteen cars of ore from Tlnttc, four from Nevada and seven from Stockton today. President Lewis of the Royal has left the olty again, in the interest of his gigantic gi-gantic enterprise. The tramway of the Silver King shut down Thursday morning, it being necessary ne-cessary to put in a new traction cable. This will require about twelve days' time. The cable taken out has been in use one year and is badly worn. The new one is made of different kind of steel and is somewhat thicker, being seven-eighths instead of three-quarters of an inch, and is expected will wear longer than the one discarded. Superinendent Matthews commenced sinking in the main shaft at the May Day Monday. In the drift 70 feet below be-low the present bottom of the shaft there Is a gracfual Improvement in the size of the ore body, which continues toward the shaft On a dip of about 15 degrees, with loose country on both sides and top. The work of installing the jigging plant Is being rushed, and; it is rapidly assuming shape. Miner. DELAY AT DALY-JUDGE. General Manager O. J. Salisbury of the Daly-Judge Mining company was at his desk again this morning after several days spent at the property. The mill Mr. Salisbury says will not be put in operation Wednesday, owing to some unavoidable delay, but it will be ready to begin grinding again next Monday.' Good progress Is being made on the installation of the mill improvements, and In the meantime extensive development devel-opment work is going on underground. |
