Show Certain members of the Senate who imagine they are financiers as well as statesmen, are determined deter-mined to tax capital so heavily and pestiferously that large investments shall not pay, and capital shall seek location outside of Utah. The selfishness and short-sightedness of these gentlemen is lamentable. lament-able. These are the men who do not want progress. They want things as they were in ante-bellum days. They are very sorry the people were allowed to open up mines in Utah. They are obstructionists, working work-ing in their own interests and against the interests of the massf's. They ought not to be argued with. They should simply be voted out of countenance. |
