Show BIO COPPEB CONTRACT. The Salt Lake Copper Mining and Smelting company has signed a contract to furnish 150,000 tons of copper ore during the next five, years from its mines at Tecoma. Nov., to the United States company's smelter at Bingham Junction. This is expected to require an average yield of 100 tons per day, and is one of the first suggestions that a greater mine exists at Tecoma than the public has been generally cognizant cog-nizant of . It is owned by the Lewissohns of New York and London, principal figures fig-ures in tbe United States Metals Selling company. Some years ago, when they first undertook the development of the property, it was intended to smelt the product independently in Salt Lake, and a "copper" smelter was erected in the northern suburbs, but never placed in commission for any service beyond tests. Since then very large development develop-ment at the mine is said to have been effected. Biehard 8. McCafferty is manager man-ager of the property, and its future promises to be replete with creditable additions to the fortunes of the owners. |
