Gustaf Eheson has sued the city of Murray for $1600 damages which he claims has resulted to his property from the raising of the grade of the street which runs in front of his residence Decree of Partition. A decree of partition was granted by Judge Lewis yesterday In the case of Charles A. Walker vs. George R. Walker, The action brought was for the partition of the property known as the Walker farm, a part of the estate of the late Joseph R. Walker, Sr. Sln-Painting Contract. Acting Mayor Davis has signed the contract con-tract with John W. Arnup for the painting paint-ing of the city fire hydrants. There are about 114 hydrants in all. and the contract con-tract price for the painting is 3T cents each. The work will begun at once. Will Iieavo July 1. Samuel Newhouse will leave the first of July to attend a meeting of the international interna-tional policy-holders committee to vote the Lawson proxies of the New York Life and Mutal Life Insurance companies. New Deputy Sheriff. SherifT C. Frank Emery yesterday appointed ap-pointed C. D. Coates as deputy sheriff at Bingham, to succeed Atha Williams, who recently resigned. All of the Mormon Sunday-schools of that county are coming in on a speeil train over the Rio Grande. A long list of sports has been arranged for this afternoon. after-noon. Boy Shot in Leg. Albert Kaehl. 8 years of age. was shot In the leg yesterday afternoon by a boy named Jacobson. Both boys reside In the neighborhood of 7C6 West Ninth South street. The Kaehl boy claims that the shooting was Intentional. The matter Is being investigated by the Juvenile court. Soldiers to Start July 11. Word has been received at Fort Douglas Doug-las from the War department that the big hike to Fort D. A. Russell, in Wyoming, Wyom-ing, will start on July 11. The boys from the local fort will meet the troops from Fort Duchesne at Rock Springs. Wyo., on July 27, from which point the companies com-panies will march to Fort Rufell. It will take the troops from Fort Douglas about forty days to reach Fort Russell. Greek Bound Over. Harry Gionatlseles. one of the twenty-eight twenty-eight Greeks arrested at Garfield on June 15 on the charge of Inciting riot, was hound over to the District court yesterday yester-day afternoon by Justice Dana T. Smith. The bail was fixed In the sum of JT.00. George Roumeliotls. another of the defendants, de-fendants, will be given a trial this afternoon. |
