Show CASE WAS TRIED BY NEWSPAPERS Claims Counsel fori Burlington Bur-lington in Packers Rebate Re-bate Charge. KANSAS CITY, June 13. The trial of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy railway, charged with granting a concession con-cession of 12 cents a hundred pounds on packing-house products from the Mississippi river to New York for export, ex-port, was resumed here this morning in the United States District court. The G6vernment rested its side of the case after examining a few railway rail-way officials as to tariffs. ' Judge O. M. Spencer, counsel of the Burlington, then addressing the court, asked that the case be taken from the Jury. The newspapers had already, he declared, tried the case, and if the defendant de-fendant were found guilty it will have been done wrongfully. Judge McPher-son McPher-son adjourned court for lunch without with-out passing on the motion. |
