Show MICHAEL DAVITT. And Michael Davitt has passed on, a sturdy fighter, a thorough patriot with more prudence than as a rule marks his countrymen. He loved Ireland and fought for her rights,- a steady fight for hopeless years, for he never could see why the little isle should not be as free and as clear of suspicion as is Scotland, and with the aggressiveness of his race he championed her. He will be mourned for in his native na-tive land with the passionate grief of his warmhearted warm-hearted countrymen. V ' ' . j 4 |
