Show b 1; - WHATEVER MAT BE THE TRICCERT In the performance of Anna Eva Fay at the Grand theater. It ! certainly a clever exhibition. Her feats of or called "Somnolency" o often hit the mark that it causes the spectators to wonder. Any person in the audience, la invited to write a question upon any kind-of paper he may choose, and keep it in his own possession. An hour or so later Miss Fay. .blindfolded and covered with a sheet, appears upon the - stage, calls the names of the writers, . tells the questions asked .and give answers an-swers that in some cases are starts llngly. correct. In other cases Miss Fay Ignores the question asked and taking some characteristic-trait of the person, per-son, assumes to tell what his thoughts . are. As ad instance, last night a well-known well-known physician who has well known,' humanitarian views, was told that he ' was thinking 6f a man and a horse, but that h need not be worried, as he had done right. r The physician admitted ad-mitted that he had on the day before caused the arrest of a man for abusing abus-ing a horse, although the question had not weighed upon his mind particularly. particu-larly. A lady whose husband was re- ; cently excommunicated from a church was told that she was wondering whether her huRband had done right. ' The lady responded that she had Indorsed In-dorsed all that her husband had done . and was givena round of applause by the audience. Later Miss Fay took up the question that the. lady had written writ-ten and informed her where she was ' bom. A gentleman who arrived at the ' performance late wrote s o"sHon after af-ter Mis Fay had been blindfolded. It wa a verv alole Inquiry about the weather, but Miss Fay "called . the , i turn" on him within ten minutes after he had written the question, although she would not risk her reputation as a . weather prophet beyond a few days. , Inquiries about mining deals are quite frequent and Miss Fay usually rives encouraging predictions. In addit'on. to the exhibition of "Somnolency" Mlrs Fav gives a very entertaining "oabi- , net", trick which well known cltiiens who are called upon the stage are tin-able tin-able to . explain.
