"I have always been a Mormon. There was poj lygamy in the old days, and when I was a young; man I took two wives. But there U no polygamy now except among those who took wives then, and tl ey have stood by them like men. as I have stood by mine. , "I fought for polygamy all the way up to the Supreme court of the United States, but when that court decided against us I took no more wives and abided by the law. "Polygamy is a natural Institution and has not the bad effects that people have said it has. My eight sons are strong, healthy, vigorous men, all of them more than six feet tall. "My daughters are growing into strong, vigorous women. They do not hate each other, and ' they, love me. Neither men-Ully men-Ully nor morally are they weak. ' "Do your wives both love you?"
