Show COOPER IS HELD WITHOUT BAIL On Charge of Murdering Non-Union Hen Under Union Ban: " ' t NEW YQRK Feb. 26. Peter Cooperan iron worker, was held without ball In the Lee Avenue court, Williamsburg, on a charge of homicide. - . He was accused of having caused the death of John Jahrsdorfer, a non-union Iron worker, who died Saturday night of Injuries Inflicted with a slungshot Jahrsdorfer- was employed on the' new power-house of the Brooklyn Rapid Transit company at Kent avenue and Rush street, which was under the ban of the Iron-Workers' union. He was followed fol-lowed on the night of February 7, and at Harrison avenue and Bartlett street two men murderously assaulted him with blackjacks. Cooper and another man were -arrested and identified as the assailants. They were subsequently- released on bail. . When Jahrsdorfer died detectives -were sent out to search for the two men. Only Cooper was found. |
