For the first time in lis history in Toledo To-ledo the Syrian colony enjoyed a christening christen-ing In which all the old Greek forms aud customs were obet-rved to the letter. ' Mr. and Mrs. Busily Ktrbowey. Greeks, living on imtaria street, between Ia-Krangc Ia-Krangc and bocuxt. were the proud parents par-ents of the baby boy whose rhristenlng brought FiKlier Michael, the archiamand-riato, archiamand-riato, all the way from Massachusetts to perform the ceremony. The ceremony was performed In the presence of seventy-five Invited guests. The services began at 3:l Wednesday atemoon with John Klryakas. the godfather, god-father, taking the communion in which he avowed his responsibility for the future of the child in the event any misfortune befell be-fell the father. From that time on the parents, under the old Greek custom, played but a small part In the ceremony. The festivities. Including the Greek dance and banquet followed the rhrls-tering rhrls-tering proper and lasted until 1 o'clock In the morning. A peculiar custom In connection with the old Greek christening Is that the god- 1 father pays practically all the expense. He must pay the expenses of the priest.
