Show TRIBUTES Of PRAISE fOR YOUNG EXPLORER NEW TORK. Feb. 8. On the eve of his return to his native land. Prof. Otto Nordenskjold. the young Swedish Antarctic Ant-arctic explorer, who has spent six weeks in this country, received a Joint tribute ' of praise last night from the Arctic and the Explorer clubs, who gave him a dinner. din-ner. , Col. D. L. Brainard. vice-president ' of the Explorers' club, and one of the survivor sur-vivor of the Greoly expedition, presided. Among the speakers were Prof. William H. Brewer. Sr., Frederick A. Cooke, Anthony An-thony Fla la, Capt. E. Nikelson of the Zeigler expedition. - Capt. B. S. Osborne and' J. W. Davidson of one of the Peary expeditions to Greenland and United " States Consul to Harbin. Dr. Nordenskjold gave an illustrated . lecture of his Antarctic trip. He spoke of hi experiences in this country as the pleasantest of hi career, and paid a high tribute to tbe courage, perseverance ana achievements of the American explorers. |
