Show DISCUSSES TESTIMONY Cudahy's Manager Says Grand Jury Wants Details De-tails of Business. CHICAGO, March 24. Specific Information Informa-tion regarding shipping, marketing, and prices of certain cattle was sought today by the special grand Jury which ia investigating inves-tigating the alleged combination of packers. pack-ers. Michael Murphy, general manager of the Cudahy Packing company at South Omaha, Sioux City and Kansas City, was before the inquisitors and shed some light upon the subjects under consideration. "They asked me first about the packinghouse packing-house busln?ss in general." Mr. Murphy said. "Then they took up the subject of narketing and asked all the details of it. They Inquired Into the shipping of cattle t.r.d beef. Their questions did not point to an ini'estlgation relative to railroads. Then they went Into the subject of prices Asked whether the questions were such as would Indicate a des'.re for general information in-formation rather than for use in possible indictments. Mr. Murphy said that the information in-formation was evidently not what the Inquisitors In-quisitors was after. Henry F. Wllkir.s. manager of the beef department of the Cudahy Packing company com-pany at Omaha, was questioned on the bubject of handling beef, but he declined to discuss his testimony. United States Distrirt Attorney Irving Baxter of Omaha arrived In Chicago today to-day and will assist in the Investigation.
