OCR Text	Show MEETING IS HELD BY THE DEMOCRATS At a meeting of the candidates and members of the Joint city and county committee of the Democratic party, held at tha rooms of the Young Men's Democratic Demo-cratic club, this morning, the resignation of Matt Thomas as chairman of the committee com-mittee was accepted. Mr. Thomas stated that on account of press of private business busi-ness it would be Impossible for him longer to act In that capacity. On motion of Ben D. Luce, Lyman R. Martineau was uanimously elected to fill the vacancy. The new chairman was empowered em-powered to name the secretary, an executive execu-tive committee of seven members, togeth-r togeth-r with all other necessary committees. Headquarters will be located at the Toung Men's -Democratic club for the present,-at present,-at least.
